World championship China 2009

Postby Horia » Mon Jun 22, 2009 11:31 pm

The pots for the draw:

Pot 1:
Russia, Norway, Spain, Germany
Pot 2:
Romania, France, Korea, Angola
Pot 3:
Austria  , Hungary, China, Sweden
Pot 4:
Ukraine, Danemark, Ivory Coast, Japan
Pot 5:
Thailand, Congo, Tunisia, Pan-american team 1
Pot 6:
Kazhakstan, Australia, Pan-american team 2, Pan-american team 3.

I hope they are correct, I read them in a romanian newspaper and I didn't checked them.

Imagine this:

Norway, Romania, Hungary, Danemark

Well, Angola and Korea did a good performance at last WCh. Sseding seems to be a mixing between WCh 2007 results (continental places) and the results of the continental competitions

Pot 1: Title def, EUR 1, EUR 2, EUR 3
Pot 2: EUR 4, EUR 5, ASIA 1, AFR 1
Pot 3: EUR 6, EUR 7, ASIA 2, EUR 8
Pot 4: EUR 9, EUR 10, AFR 2, ASIA 3
Pot 5: ASIA 4, AFR 3, AFR 4, Pan 1
Pot 6: ASIA 5, AUS 1, Pan 2, Pan 3

If we look from this point to the seeding and take the results of the last ECh, AsiaCh, Afrika-Ch into account than the seeding look like this.

RUS, NOR, ESP, GER
ROU, CRO (France got this spot), KOR, ANG
MKD (Austria got this spot), HUN, CHN, SWE
UKR, DEN, CIV, JPN
THA, CGO, TUN, PAN 1 (BRA?)
KAZ, AUS, PAN 2 (ARG), PAN 3 (DOM/PAR?)

The only question in my eyes is why is China as Asian Runner-up in the third pot and not in the fourth. Maybe this is their home ground advantage. Every other seeding belongs to this logic. So, the only point to be discussed is the drawing pots of China and Ukraine (who could swap pots)

Well, in that case Romania will struggle to finish first in the group, then it will get kicked out in the second phase by Spain or Germany or whatever team they will meet. So I don't like your imagination.

Because there was huge count of injuries and career breaks in last season?
Or because Trefilov has won it three times (including last two)?

9 years is enough...time for new ideas.

Foreign coach,yesterday.

France-Russia in the olympics is enough.

With the 2001 team even i would be world champion.
2005 playing at home with a pathetic norway team, big deal....
2007,only trefilov good result.
olympics last year, what a pathetic preparation.

The rest any rus coach from the superleague would have the same results.

In fact no i am pretty sure they would not miss the 2004 olympics.
