We lost 26-28, so Romania B is close to France A, not so bad... The referees helped the hosts in the last 5 minutes from what I understood, we led almost all the game. I predicted pretty well the score...

Anyway, considering Voina was not there...


PS. The equipment looks damn bad, from 5 sets, they should give 2 to Romania B... The girls don't look bad, but the equipment of the staff make them looking like peasants, no offence! Thanks for the pics, pal...

WOW! The best thing here is the return of Brădeanu... This is great because Luca retired from the national team so we needed here a good defender to make a couple in defense with Beşe! I am glad Voina convoked her, because only with a good defense we can play the final of the EURO...

Yes, Galpa, I agree. She is great in offense too, but our problems in China were in defense. Anyway, she can play also play-maker or back, if Neagu-Amariei-Vizitiu aren't in good form, Bradeanu can be used... I am glad to see Bradeanu is so appreciated in Gyor! But watching the games, I know why...

I think this topic must be reactivated as posting in other topics might bother other users who are not interested in this kind of information/ considerations.
So this WCh is finished for us (I really don't care about games for 9-16 places). Here is what I think about what happened (and it might be more accurate to use "didn't happen"). Imho Ambros Martin failed as a coach. And I'll try to explain myself:

- he failed coaching all the new players who joined the team recently as he didn't manage to integrate none of them in this new team; he insisted playing with Geiger - maybe the most useless player I have seen in my life playing for Romania, he didn't prepare a backup for C. Neagu (in order to rest her for at least 10 min/game), Elisei (who is a very determined player and plays very good defence/ offence, but she also needs rest), Udristioiu (who also played a lot), Pintea (who also got overused and lacked some lucidity in some important moments even if he brought another 2 pivots);

- he failed training defence: I know one could say "he didn't have much time to do so", but come on, I don't ask for Russia 2005 level of defence, I ask for some decent central defenders (Pintea might be a solution for that, but she currently has no pair and maybe this is the reason she didn't manage to stop some easy-to-stop shooting from 9m), some knowledge when defending the pivot and last but not least defending the first post when it comes to GKs (I know this is not his main duty, but hey, what is that team for?)

- he failed training offence (this is the easy one): no tactics (I haven't seen a decent organized play after a time-out or some decent gameplay in various conditions like powerplay etc), no fluidity, no pace (I don't know how he did it in such a short time after Ryde's leaving, even my grandmother has plenty of time to have a short jogging session till we get the ball in a really dangerous position); our "gameplay" looks like a skating cow (and this when Laslo won't slip on that ball) with so much attacking fouls, turnovers and just a few fastbreaks (which is the main thing Romanian NT used to be known for) and of course no solutions when Neagu fails (which is normal at some point)

- besides he makes some weird changes in the most unappropriate moments (just an example: he was changing some players for defence with 10 seconds till the buzzer and this allowed the opponent to score an easy goal), he took some very bad TOs (when we were in the lead and not when the team collapsed from + 4 to 0 or worse)

- of course I also wonder if he saw the girls before making the selection (which I think NOT)

Conclusion: we need a full time coach who can see all the games from our league (where most of our players are currently playing), not a part-time coach who is very comfortable at club level with his all-star team (which (I think) doesn't need so much coaching as we do). This NT deserves more than this imo.
