Where are they today?
Hi all,
This weekend I were at this party and we ere talking about handball in the past, and we were all quires about what have happened to the players we like so much, we tried to Google but with out success, but then one person told about this site and meant this was the best place to ask..
So does any one know where the following players are today and what they do?
Ausra Fridrikas?
Natasja Deriouguina?
Bojana Radulovic?
Natasja Burgers?

Re: Where are they today?
Bojana Radulovics - After a long break she returned to handball last year. In this season she was playing in the Hungarian league, in Dunaferr (153 goals/22 matches). The club had financial difficulties and some older players decided to help to keep the club in 1st league. Bojana played really well in the season, scored lots of goals, we would still need her in NT!
( 37 y old)
Ibolya Mehlmann - She gave birth to her child and had a long break after that. This season she started to train in a small club in Győr (VKL SE, 2nd division 70 goals/12 matches). She needs more time to find her old form but from September she will play in the 1st league again (Veszprém or Érd). As I know, she is very motivated again. She has chance to be NT player again because we have problem on this position. We will see her performance next year. (28 y old)
That's what I know, maybe there are better informed Hungrians who can share something more with us.

Re: Where are they today?
Very Interesting topic!
I asked itwas82 about Woo a while ago, here is his answer:
Woo is playing in Korea. She helped her club Samcheok win the inaugural Korean Super League title in September. During the Super League she played quite well but she was not 100% fit and her jump seemed a bit weaker than her prime. I don't know exactly how much she recovered now.

Think I will go for something possitive here - Handball is just a great sport!

Both played the 2009/10 season at home in Slovakia.
Šimáková became champion with ŠKP Bratislava. Popluhárová was the leader of Slovan Duslo Šaľa, but according to rumours she soon will sign "somewhere" in Germany again.

Woo played last time at Rulmentul Brasov in Romania, when Herbert Muller was coach. Yes, she is now in Korea. One of the best right wingers from the world...

You mean left-handed right back but yeah we really miss one!

I could still imagine her in the NT, she could help a lot! Or we should try to find Hungarian relatives of Bulatovic!

Hardly - Bulatovićs are solely of Montenegrin origin.

P.S. Thnx for the videos, timus! It's always a pleasure to watch such a left-handed bomber as Radulovic is.

Yes, typing mistake.

She can do it for sure. At least 20-30 minutes per match.

Re: Where are they today?
There are some players who came to play in Slovenia from other countries but still live here:
– Inna Dolgun from Kyrgyzstan, who has a handball school in Ljubljana;
– Olga Čečkova from Russia, whose daughter played for Olimpija in previos season;
– Natalija Borisenko from Ukraine, who sometimes looks after Vergelyuk's daughter;
– Natalija Derepasko from Ukraine, who lives in Ljubljana with girlfriend, if I'm well informed;
– Ana Mihaela Ciora from Romania, who still plays handball in Ptuj and owns company, specialized in consultating.
Slovenia seems to be good destination for players from ex-Soviet/Eastern states.
