Re: BEST HANDBALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR 2014
surely Neagu, she deserves it the most. she was outstading in the last Champions League edition with goals and assists and bringing the silver for Buducnost, the same this season, in the European Championships the second best scorer, the best left back. most likely she will be the best scorer of the 2014/2015 CL season, and rarely her goals came from 7 meters, not to mention the assists.
Cristina Neagu is the most complete player of the world in this moment.
what did Eduard Amorim do in the past months? she wasn`t the same, Cris is just going up, I bet Neagu would overtake Duda in a 100% duel. I`m talking about the start of the season..
until the voting, you should all watch this: http://www.digisport.ro/Sport/HANDBAL/V ... pala+marca. if you haven`t watched Buducnost-Leipzig. Neagu does that at 179. if she will avoid any further injuries, she will be unstoppable.
Neagu comes after 2 years and 3 months of injuries to play like this after short time.

Eduarda Amorim and Marta Mangue
Neagu deserves it, but Gullden is an option too.

NEAGU
My rankings:
1. Cristina Neagu
2. Eduarda Amorim (The World Championships took place in in 2013 between 6 and 22 December, and it was chosen do Nascimento for that year; The European Championships took place in 2014 where Neagu was outstanding and in the both halves of the CL seasons)
3. Heidi Løke
4. Isabelle Gulldén
5. Marta Mangué (Weird pick)

Re: BEST HANDBALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR 2014
Another stupid individual award in a team sport.
Btw, since Andrea Lekic has had this award, I really think, it is a joke.
Well, as I see, most of the People are a bit biased for their team or nation.
I also miss several players and could hardly vote as comparison is impossible.
However, Gullden had the highest contribution for her teams

Re: BEST HANDBALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR 2014
Gullden didn`t play at the highest level in CL. we don`t know what she would do against the giants. the national teams are poorer and poorer and not dream teams.

Perfect comments! I'm biased toward Duda Amorim, of course, and that's why I don't even try to justify my vote.
This is just a silly pool, but its also a good way to make some publicity about handball as a sport. For example, a lot of people here in Brazil heard of Handball as a professional sport for the first time when A. Nascimento won this prize (by the way, for 2012 and not for 2013).
I suspect IHF is very interested in a country with 200 million people and GDP of 2245 billion USD, so, being this prize as it is, besides voting for her I would bet on Duda as the winner.
Again, we should not take this prize so seriously...

So it is a marketing tool in this reading.

Than ok, let's give it to the german male team.

Stupid and pointless list as usual. Where are Nycke Groot and Nora Mørk? Anyway, handball is a too complex sport to pick one name, a GK or a LP has so different roles and qualities than a back player...
I understand it's a normal way of creating lists, at least IAAF are also always having a hard time whom to put there, how on earth are we to compare a world class shot putter with a distance runner?

As I said, this prize ends doing some publicity about handball as a sport, whether or not it is intended to do this. I didn't said it is solely a marketing tool.

I don't think handball as whole needs to be publicized in Germany

Re: BEST HANDBALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR 2014
Löke made an "All in" this year with her teams.
Neagu did not. And gave a less than mediocre performance against Hungary which became decisive for Romania, reaching only the 9th place at the ECh, and could mean the end of the road for Rio.
Gulldén has the factor of not having this title won yet.
So is Amorim, but her chances are lower by Nascimento's win.
Anyway, this award is not as prestigous as it should be. Krause did win it, while Popovic did not, so...

Re: BEST HANDBALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR 2014
My prediction is Gullden. MVP, top scorer and bronze medalist of the 2014 ECh.
One champhionship is all it takes, we all know that the award does not reward the performance of a year as it should.
If it had, I'd say it's between Neagu (all-star Ech, 2nd best scorer, finalist of the ChL) and Loke (all-star Ech, gold in ECh and ChL). Left back beats pivot
just teasing ...

Re: BEST HANDBALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR 2014
Duda and it shall be no question.
World Champion with Brazil, MVP of the tournament. Twice winning the CL with Györ, both times being outstanding in both, Defense and Attack. Most complete female player of the World.

Cristina Neagu
who would have thought that after so many injuries she will reach again that top level of performance. Cristina is a natural leader in attack, she's clever with an outstanding arm. She deserves it this year.
