Is there any other German team (Buxtehunde/Oldenburg), applying for that spot, or Thüringer remains the only one?

THC should remain the only one. Buxtehude is quite happy that they don't have to splash out the money for CL. While Oldenburg probably could never afford it anyway (they didn't compete in the EHF cup for the past five years for that reason).

You'll never know with EHF ;) but if there won't be any change compared to last season, we should have:
Buducnost, Larvik, FTC, FCM, Vardar, Krim, Rostov, Thuringer, CSM, Fleury, Hypo, Podravka, Savehof and Lublin/Yenimahalle :?:

We could also imagine some teams in Qualificantions:
Gyor, Esbjerg - for sure + maybe Radnicki, Minsk, Dalfsen, Yenimahalle/Lublin :?:
Wild Card application: I know only about HCM Baia Mare + maybe a danish, french, hungarian or russian team :?:

EDIT:
Again: if EHF didn't change their mind, Turkey would have automatic place in Champions League. Correct me if i'm wrong. (Turkey outrunning Poland and they are 15th in EHF Ranking for 2015/16 season). Therefore, Yenimahalle should be already qualified in Group Phase! (I read they want to be there). P.S: Yeliz Ozel is playing in this team.
L. Hutupan-Dinu, V. Ardean-Elisei, Cristina Neagu, O. Manea, I. Stanca, M. Jovanovic, Y. Ozel, R. Maier.

I think we can add Glassverket from Norway and Buxtehuder from Germany on the list.

Yes, it would've been HC Leipzig or no one else (apart from THC of course). CL isn't broadcast on TV here so it's not really of any interest to the clubs. It just adds extra expenses. :?

Has Glassverket said anything about applying? Surely some local journalist must have asked them about their intentions in the last few weeks? :-k

That is what I also thought at first when I saw that list. :) But it's not the case, the 20 listed clubs are already confirmed for either the group stage or the wild card tournaments. While the other 7 might get a place in one of the wild card tournaments.

But 7 out of these 27 ar just "requests". It remains to be seen how many of them will be accepted by EHF.

The best solution IMO would be EHF to give direct spot to the first 13 places from EHF Ranking.
(Buducnost, Larvik, FTC, FCM, Vardar, Krim, Rostov, THC, CSM, Fleury, Hypo, Podravka and Savehof)

And 3 Qual. tournaments:
Pot 1: Gyor, Esbjerg, Lada
Pot 2: Glassverket, Baia Mare, Metz
Pot 3: Yenimahalle, Lublin, Radnicki
Pot 4: Dalfsen, Minsk + one of Indeco Conversano/Muratpasa/Vistal

What you say, guys? :D

I'm OK with this, if the Pot 1 is the organizer of the event.
Enough of this "let's make it hard for the better team" project that put Leipzig in the group phase.

Home advantage didn't help Byasen qualify for two years in a row - just as an example.

But anyway, I came across this yesterday: http://www.lvz.de/Sport/HC-Leipzig/News ... l-gewinnen
Laut einer neuen Regelung haben die besten Teams der europäischen Rangliste das Heimrecht.

which translates to this:
According to a new regulation the best teams in the European rankings have the home advantage.

Sounds ok, buuut... 2 Turkish or Polish, even in qualies would be a bit too much, you anti-Romanian! :P
I think the EHF CL overall is a bad joke and EHF is not helping anyone with worthless qualies. Perhaps it's time to think about a closed-league system for the best, most financially stable teams in each season, just as in basketball.

Or simply go back to the old format with 16 teams instead of this ridiculously drawn out nonsense.
Women's World Volleyball Championship
20.10.2018, Yokohama (JPN)
1. Serbia 2. Italy 3. China
The history is made. Thank you, girls!

Agree with Mikh and Joana. It's time for EHF to understand the bad economy throughout the system, and qualifications is a waste of money that don't help anyone... There are only a handful teams that can win CL, so let's not fool ourselves from reality. The teams that need to qualify don't have a snowball chance in hell anyway....so what's the point????

So, you think that Győr has no chance at all? Surprising. You must be the only one with such thoughts.
And, if only teams that have real chances to get the trophy might participatie in the tournament, it would be quite easy to organize. In 2014/15 it was Larvik and Buducnost, no one else.
In conclusion, I declare that EHF must be destroyed

how is possible something like this? Lublin instead of Ankara? based on what? Turkey is ranked a bit higher and Ankara want to participate.

gergő wrote:hmm glassverket. personally i would have given to metz instead. or lada at least.

how to give it to Metz? Metz were 3rd, not to mention that Norway is anyway in front of France so even France`s 2nd would have been surpassed. and Lada didn`t want to participate.
