Russia could have to squads in this world championship and done well both teams. A good quality team "Russia 2" could be:

GK: Suslina, Gabisova, Basarab
LW: Kiseleva, Gorshkova
RW: Uskova, Yartseva, Sukhanova
LP: M. Petrova, E. Petrova, Stepanova
LB: Gorshenina, Garanina, Zhilinskayte
RB: Davydenko, Punko
PM: Kochetova, Shymkute, Koroleva

Took me around 3-4 min to find (think) these quality players. And this is 19 players, and so even 3 had to be left home even here.

Ikhneva did wrong to move so young to macedonia.
And you forget both Ukrainian Rostov wingers who might play soon for russia.

Anyway let's not dream too much.

Before the tournament i was happy with a top 8 finnish, now i will say a top 4 is quite possible.

Likey Denmark or Hungary in the last 8,so anything can happen.

Managarova would be a huge upgrade for any team. I read somewhere that 2017 is the earliest date she can play for Russia, is it true?

yes.

Portugal is in the euro 2008,finaly!!!!!

6 games today, 4 of them had a margin of 15 or more. Does it have any sense? Why on earth do we need such games?

^ Correct me if I'm wrong, but 1996 is the date of the last official Romanian victory against Russia. And I think most of us Romanian fans, as much as we'd love to finally put a new one in our girls' accounts this year, it will probably not happen.
We're consistently bad against Russia (even in Euro 2012, when we drew against them) and Norway. Something tells me, nothing special will happen this year.
Realistically, I'd gladly take a win against Spain and one in the 1/8 finals, then let Ryde work a bit more for the OQT. If anything better happens, it would be a bonus.

Btw, Romania is the only team in this group not having played against a serious team yet. And our schedule from now on is awful: Norway and Russia in 2 days. Same goes for Norway, playing against us and Spain.

This is a weird decision: "Despite successful use at the 24th IHF Men’s Handball World Championship in Qatar and through the first match days at the 22nd IHF Women’s Handball World Championship in Denmark, the Video Proof System will not be used for the rest of the tournament as the margin for error cannot be completely excluded."

The VPS was successful, the officials however f*cked it up, so the VPS won't be used again. Fantastic ](*,)

According to IHF, the officials are unable to handle the VPS properly.
By the way, this decision is the proof of the following theorem:

IHF officials are a technologically incapable bunch of morons.

It's a bit harder than in volleyball, where the ball should be on the floor when making the decision of in/out.
In handball they should have a much more expensive and sophisticated video analizing programme, that can make a decision on its own.

Such a system exists and is widely used in football. The problem is that it is very expensive. While a camera and a video recorder make costs of some hundreds of euros, a hawk eye system could make costs of ten thousands of euros.
In conclusion, I declare that EHF must be destroyed

We were destroyed. I think Mr. Németh's tactics were wrong and his player management was awful. IMHO.

I'm glad Montenegro run over Hungary, they always trash-talk about other teams, I was surprised that carma didn't get them against Serbia.

Oh God...

It's still such a mess, so I guess it's "back to normal" for the start in a tournament for Norway. Romania next, and I have no idea how that match will turn out for us...or I have...but hope I'm wrong ofc :)

Back to normal is also the stupid bets among the TV2 reporters, and this time Frode Scheie had to take a swim in the Danish sea, as Puerto Rico scored more than 10 goals against Norway :)

Image

Well, many entertaining matches this WC at least, where even Montenegro now looks to be really strong again with a young team. Wow!

Serbia did give Denmark a match first half even when missing their very best players Lekic, Cvijic, Tomasevic and Damnajanovic, as they left the NT because they didn't like the trainer...unthinkable for other NT. CRAZY :)

Russia back on the goldtrack as they used to many years ago, and now even Trefilov is praised for his coaching among the experts...guess their back on the top again :)

Sweden experimenting as usual, now with an extra player, cost them victory against Netherland...typical Sweden :)

Hungary losing big again...sorry, but that is actually not something new :)

Denmark got one of their most important players injured in the start of a tournament yet again, is like a curse, and nothing new for this tournament either. Still they can reach far at home ground.

South Korea is also cursed for a goal that was wrongly decided yet again, but anyway the result, despite photographic evidence, still stands, and will probably be crucial as it usually is for Korea... Instead IHF send all the referees and officials for that game back home, including the whole videoteam, so that's it for photo evidence for the rest of the WC... CRAZY :)

Spain looking strong as usual, nothing new here. Netherland stronger than before, but not a medal contender.

France looking so strong as they can do...but not convincing either. Anyway, I have seen too little of them, and that includes the rest of the other teams as well to have an opinion about them.

Good tournament though with many teams that can fight for medal, will make it a thriller :)

I guess it's the biggest ever on a WCh.
Németh should really step down.
He couldn't motivate our girls, but looks like his abnormal interviews really made the Montenegrin girls on fire.
How could he say things before the match like "It's more or less realistic that the Serbs did a draw against MNE, approximately THEY ARE ON THE SAME LEVEL. Their attacking game is mostly built around one scheme, and their defense is not that (good) as it previously was. So I say, if we play what we know, we have no reason to be afraid"
=D> old idiot!

what a blackout, our girls led for a half, even by 3-4 margin. Romania-Spain video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NH01D0hCgdU

mentally, coaching maybe, they need to change something because I also watched Norway and we aren`t worse.
