Seems like it's officially confirmed now: the OQT#2 won't take place in Russia due to the WADA sanctions.

As far as I'm concerned, Serbia can host the OQT. But I'm interested in what way is Serbia more deserving? The food is better? Or the hotels are more comfortable?

The hosting right certainly has an impact on the outcome of the battle for the Tokyo ticket between SRB and HUN, and because these two certainly wouldn't like to travel to Chine to decide who's better, the IHF should choose a perfectly neutral ground, as it is the nice Norvegian city of Gyør .

I would prefer China as host. For example Shanghai would be perfect. A place, almost equally disastrous for the other participants. This way maybe we could win against Serbia. For, if we host this tournament, the pressure would be enormous for our girls and they would probably play a similarly asinine handball as we have seen in this WCH. Far away, not having enough time for acclimatization, there is a slight chance, that our opponents would also be playing a somewhat random handball. So, China is the way to even the field for us

That is an understandable wish on your part. However, it has nothing to do with "deserving"

Re: Road to Tokyo 2020 Olympics
Playing home for a olympic ticket is always an advantage, and imo Serbia shows best handball than Hungary during this WCH so organize a TQO will be a good award for them and will increase their chances to go to olympics

According to this article, North Korea announced it won't take part (although the IHF hasn't confirmed that yet).
